People who attempt to build an online internet personality sometimes don’t realize that by adding some planning and strategy one could build a far more powerful brand and channel. By building tools for streamers I have had the opportunity to watch many different streams and personalities. Like a coach who watches his or her team on the sideline, it’s sometimes hard to not dream about what it is like to be on the field. As I kept watching some of <a href="https://blerp.com/streams?hashTrack=ess_ques_tw2019" target="_blank" style="background-color: transparent; color: rgb(17, 85, 204);">my favorite streamers use our Blerp Twitch apps</a> I could not help but ponder on how I would personally tackle building a Twitch channel. I wanted to share with you a couple questions I personally would ask someone who was determined to find success in growing a brand through live streaming. 1. Are you trying to portray yourself or play a character? If you are trying to use your own personality as the main character of your stream then it is more important to be authentic. If you are playing a character you should find and write down the qualities you want to emphasize. There are many different personalities that attract different people. A lot of people use humor to provide entertainment for their audience. Some people give great advice or use their high moral character as their main selling value point. Some people can even have a bland personality and just use the lessons and knowledge in the content to sell itself. If you aren’t a natural actor then figuring out how you can guide your principles and beliefs into becoming the person you want to be on and off stream may be the easiest path for you to be authentic on stream. 2. How do you want people to perceive you? Once you have the qualities of the character you want to portray then you have to dedicate yourself to maintain that perception. Branding is not just how you want to be perceived but more about how viewers actually perceives you. It’s powerful to understand that you have choices in the habits and personalities you decide to show through your content. From what I have seen there aren’t single personalities that excel over others. It is more important that you stay dedicated to the character when performing on stream. It can be detrimental if you constantly change your persona because you feel scared of showing moral flaws. For example you can be a funny jerk and still build a dedicated audience as long as the right people are watching. It is hard to be a humorous jerk two days of the week and convince people you are a nice quiet person the other days of the week. It is that hidden consistent communication that happens between you and your audience that creates the feelings that mold your brand. 3. What is the reason why people watch your content? Whenever I consume any content there is always a reason why I watch it. I will watch health channels because I want to discover new ways to improve my life. I watch a movie because I want to be entertained. I watch finance channels because I want to be more educated about the market. I listen to psychology podcasts because I want to learn why people think a certain way. You will have a higher chance of getting people to watch your content if you are sharing content surrounding a niche that you are an expert in. If the reason people watch your content is simply because it’s a new source of entertainment then you will need to add some uniqueness into your content to make it stand out. 4. Why am I streaming? Do I enjoy it? An overlooked question that people forget to ask while executing a plan is asking whether or not they are actually enjoying the pursuit. Some people enjoy the idea of chasing a plan more than the actual journey of executing it. As you develop your plan for success you will need to define what success means to you. Are you streaming as a mental outlet or are you streaming because you want to one day be famous? Are you streaming because you want to learn and grow your skills or do you want to learn to be a better entertainer? Success is determined differently by different people. If you don’t have a purpose to back your decisions, It can be easy to end up in an environment that you don’t fully enjoy.

Why Doesn’t Google Have Audio Search (Our Best Guess)

This resonated with me because I remember back when I was a freshmen in college I had all this ambition, but the work I had put into my passions didn’t go anywhere. I myself am still in the process of chasing my own dreams. You may be asking, “Well Aaron, what are your dreams”. Currently, my life’s work is packed into an app called <a href="http://blerp.com">Blerp</a>, which I started two years ago while going to school at the <a href="https://www.utah.edu/">University of Utah</a>. People are amazed that <a href="http://blerp.com">Blerp</a> has released apps on the <a href="http://blerp.com/soundboard-products/apps">Android, and iOS store</a>. We have an app integrated into <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/blerp-sound-bite-search-and-audio-meme-messaging/id1235261552?mt=8">iMessage</a> and <a href="https://facebook.com/blerpapp">Messenger</a> Keyboards. As well as apps integrated into <a href="https://blerp.com/soundboard-products/twitch">Twitch</a> and <a href="https://blerp.com/soundboard-products/discord">Discord</a>. For some people, they could raise millions of dollars and not build what we have built at Blerp. Surprisingly we built all these apps bootstrapping with a couple of student engineers and a product designer. You could say we needed grit in order to get Blerp to where it is today. While that is true we also had strategies in place to do more work with less effort. This way of thinking is completely different from my previous strategies as a freshman in college where I would do work and get no results. In school, I tried to do everything. I “dropped the ball” on tasks because I did not say no. I got a mediocre score on the GMAT because I told myself I needed to start a company and go to business school. What I found is that I used to be afraid of closing doors. Surprisingly, it sounds like many people have this problem. The truth is that if we are constantly chasing a new shiny job we will never reap the rewards of our current work. Also if we spread ourselves to ten different tasks we will never put enough effort into the one job that will actually take us where we want to go. From my observation, the people who truly succeed in this life have a strong conviction of the ideas that are most important to them. These same people also will diligently give all their time into working on ideas or relationships that they decided are most important to them.<figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/1024/1*gu7-_4mX_3dGnxueAiMzyA.jpeg" /><figcaption>There is something special about being able to focus on what we love to do</figcaption></figure>Attracting people to work on blerp with me was vital for getting blerp to where it is today. The truth is that during college, I did not have the character to attract a strong team. I still don’t but it&#39;s better than before. I actually attribute my lack of leadership to why my first couple of business partnerships failed to work out. It took me years to improve my character so that I could find and build the right team. Working on your character means setting values for yourself and living by those values such as doing the right thing even when its hard to do so. It means showing that you are truly passionate about your work rather than chasing fame or money. It means being a decent human being and empathetically caring about the people who give you time. Being a person who knows how to give more than they take is also vital in getting great teammates to want to work for you. If you feel like you don’t have enough time during the day then figure out how to get smart people to help you split your workload. The progress you will make on your specific goal will drastically be different compared to the progress of working on your goal alone.<figure><img alt="" src="https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/1024/1*1QAQkM3QZvs8T6WPZqmtug.jpeg" /></figure>Prioritize your life so aren’t burnt out all the time. I used to have the attitude that if I wasn’t working then I was losing. Losing what? For me, it felt like I was giving time away if I just relaxed. What I didn’t realize is that the time I spent sitting in front of a computer doing nothing could have been spent hanging out with a good friend while re-energizing myself to work harder the next day. Nowadays I still get everything done that I say I will do, but now I still have time to grab lunch with some close friends as well as go to the gym (sometimes). Being someone who loves meeting people and who started his own business in college, I could have chosen a major that related more to these activities, but I chose to do something in the college of engineering. I do not regret my choice one bit and let me share with you why.I jumped into engineering thinking I could find a steady desk job, but that is because I didn’t know myself before starting college and I had no idea what I really wanted to do. I began to realize that the classes I took taught me valuable skills that people wanted. These skills included problem solving, design, and even teamwork. Through the college of engineering I learned to be an inventor. It is inventors who aren’t afraid to execute on crazy ideas that really make an impact on this world. By studying engineering, I could literally create a product that did not exist hours before right from my bedroom. This astounded me.As I became further involved in the technical field I started to truly understand the tools that are being built for us. Around us technology is everywhere and it’s growing. By understanding a field that is changing our world in such dramatic ways, I was able to grasp what is truly going on in our world. I began to see what true innovation really meant. I could envision the limits of our technology. I could then theorize how to surpass those technological limits. If we do not understand where we are at then how do we truly build something more valuable? Engineering thus taught me how to add value to this world.To me, the ability to learn business outside of business school is easier then learning engineering outside of engineering school. I can’t speak against every case for this ideology because I did not go through business school myself. I can say that learning engineering surrounded by people who are also learning the skill has its great benefits. I was fortunate enough to learn a lot about business through books and great mentors. Through talking with people better than me at the topic such as Keeton from <a href="http://zampi.io" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">zampi.io</a> I have started to pick up some marketing strategies that has helped us grow blerp. The ability to effectively drive people to your product is part of the game we call business. Your product can get organic (free) traffic or paid traffic. Yes paid traffic is important but I’m only going to explain a use case for getting organic traffic. This article is purely going to explain how you can take advantage of designing a product or game that brings in organic traffic. The case studies we talk about are going pull from real world products or video games. <h3>1. Build something completely different from the industry</h3> A strong branding principle is do the opposite of your competition. The reason you do this is because it makes yourself more memorable and stand out. A great example of this is Tesla’s most recent <a href="https://www.tesla.com/cybertruck" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">CyberTruck</a> launch. For the longest time trucks have the classic box shape.It would have been easy for Tesla to launch an electric truck that solves the utility that looks the same as everyone else. Instead Tesla went the extra mile and took completely harsh Sci Fi design for their truck. Not only does this make their truck really cool to talk about but it adds to the coolness factor of owning a Tesla car.&nbsp; <h3>2. Think of marketing at the beginning of the product development cycle</h3> I had lunch with the CEO from Splitgate a couple weeks ago and we talked about the marketing built into Splitgate. <a href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/677620/Splitgate_Arena_Warfare/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Splitgate</a> is Halo meets portal FPS arena game. If you slap on marketing at the end of the product cycle you may find yourself having a lot of trouble reaching your audience. <h3>3. Design a product that makes people laugh</h3> Humor is a powerful tool for many situations because it can be a clever way to connect with people and get an audience to like you. You also have the option of uploading an MP3 directly also.
